Mrs. Doyle-Principal

A daughter of two school superintendents, Mrs. Doyle went to high school in Montesano, WA. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University she moved to southern California to pursue her interest in law. After working for two years as a paralegal, Mrs. Doyle returned to school at California State University Northridge to earn her Teaching Certificate, and she taught for 3 years in Glendale and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. After the Northridge earthquake, Mrs. Doyle moved back to Washington where she taught at Illahee Junior High in Federal Way School District while earning her Masters in Education Administration and her Principals Credential.

Tahoma School district first hired Mrs. Doyle as Tahoma Senior High School’s assistant principal and vocational director. After four years at the high school, she was hired at Cedar River Middle School in 2000 where she helped facilitate the move to Tahoma Middle School four years ago. During this time Mrs. Doyle went back to school to receive a Superintendent’s Credential and is currently enrolled in a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Washington State University.

Mrs. Doyle’s real job is a partnership with her husband raising three children: Alec (12), Emma (10) and Sarah (10).

Amy Doyle is proud of Tahoma Middle School staff and students.  Everyone has worked hard to create a positive, fun educational environment. 

Mr. Gardner - Assistant Principal

Mr. Gardner is the Assistant Principal at TMS. Before coming to Tahoma, he taught as well as performed educational leadership roles a total of 14 years (all at the middle school level) in the Tacoma School District, the Tukwila School District and most recently, the Renton School District.

He is a graduate of Eastern Washington University where he received his teaching credentials with an emphasis in reading, math and special education. Mr. Gardner received his Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley College and Administrative credentials from City University.

Mr. Gardner lives in Renton with his wife Shelley and their two children, Kelsie (7 years old) and Cameron (5 years old).
