Policies: General Procedures

School Visitations

Students are not permitted to bring visitors/guests to school or school dances.

Closed Campus

Tahoma Junior High is designated as "closed campus". Students can not leave the school grounds once they have arrived, even if first period has not yet started. Permission to leave campus must be permitted from the office and the student must sign out.

Safe Arrival Program

The purpose of the Safe Arrival Program is to account for each student not in attendance on any school day. It is critical for the Parent/Guardian to call the Safe Arrival number or the attendance office before 9:00 a.m. When calling the Safe Arrival number or the attendance office please leave the students name, parent/guardian name, date of absence, and nature of absence. If your student is absent and no message has been left the school will call you at home. Safe Arrival phone number at Tahoma Junior High is (425) 413-5619.

Health Care Services

To comply with the Family Rights and Privacy Act, we keep a record of the health care services that we provide to each student. We can not disclose our records to anyone other than the parent/guardian or the student unless the law authorizes or compels us to do so. We are able to verify for a staff member if the student was in the health room during a specific time. Health information pertaining to special education needs is located in the Special Services Department at Tahoma School District Central Services Center.

Medication

Students who must take medication should check in all medication into the main office. The school nurse will make arrangements to disperse medication.
