Now in its 7th season of producing quality family musical theatre, Tahoma Drama at the middle level will be performing Willy Wonka, a musical based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The play follows the book more closely than the original movie starring Gene Wilder or the newer version starring Johnny Depp. All your favorite characters appear, including the Willy Wonka, the Candy Man, the gluttonous Augustus Gloop, the competitive Violet Beauregard, the intolerable Veruca Salt, the unfocused Mike Teavee and of course, Charlie Bucket. Tahoma Jr. High School 9th grader Mackenzie Dress(Red Cast) leads the cast as Willy Wonka. Shows will be performed in the theatre at Tahoma Middle School. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $7 general admission/$5 student (with ASB) and children 5 and under are free of charge.

Rewards and Recognition Program
TJHS Students, Staff, and Parents,
Click here for information about the rewards and recognition program that our TJHS student council has recently introduced at the Jr. High School. Our mission is to recognize all students at Tahoma Jr. High School for a variety of accomplishments throughout the school year. Our hope is to encourage the students to be involved with Tahoma Jr. High School and community activities while recognizing all those who have met criteria. We will track all student progress toward the five recognition criteria and students will be entered into a prize drawing for each criteria met. “Bear Pride” certificates and an invitation to a student ice cream social will be given for all students that meet at least 3 of the 5 criteria. The 1st ice cream social will be February 15th. The program informational handouts and forms can be in the main office. Go Bears!

Counseling Tip - The National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University continues to find evidence that young people who eat meals with their parents are less likely to smoke, drink or use drugs. Even one meal a day can reduce your child's risk.
Other things you can do: talk with your teen, find out who their friends are, where they are spending their time after school and on the weekends. Teens who know their family cares about them have better self esteem and are more likely to make positive decisions for their lives.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
