The Tahoma School District serves 7,100 students in grades K-12 in and around Maple Valley, WA, a suburban community (20,000 population) in Southeast King County, about 30 miles southeast of Seattle.

Tahoma High School offers PSAT on Oct. 18

Tahoma High School will be offering the PSAT on Saturday, Oct. 18.  The PSAT is recommended for all college-bound sophomores and juniors.  It is also the test for juniors to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Students may register for the PSAT by paying the Tahoma cashier $16.  Registrations will be accepted beginning Sept. 15.  Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.  If you have any questions regarding the PSAT, please call the Tahoma High School Counseling Office at (425) 413-6204.

Healthy Youth Survey to be conducted in October

Students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 will be asked to participate in the Healthy Youth Survey during the week of Oct. 13. For more information about the survey, please read this flier or visit the Healthy Youth Survey Web site.

WASL scores released; Tahoma students perform well

Tahoma students remain in the top 10 percent of state students, on average, as measured by the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). WASL scores for individual schools and school districts were released on Aug. 26. To view the scores, please visit the School Report Card on the Superintendent of Public Instruction Web site.
