Krause chosen as National PE teacher of Year
Tahoma High School teacher Tracy Krause is being honored as the National High School PE Teacher of the Year. Krause was selected from a field of six regional teachers of the year chosen by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. The announcement came at the association’s annual Hall of Fame banquet, held in Fort Worth, Texas on April 11. Click here for more information.

Tahoma Robotics Club heading to nationals
The Tahoma Robotics Club, competing in the F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics regional event in Tacoma, placed first and will now advance to nationals competition in Atlanta, GA. Two new Math web sites available
We have two new web sites for students and parents to access. Go to www.everydaymathonline.com to strengthen your math skills by playing Everyday Math Games and using the Student Reference Book to look up and review information. The Student Reference Book includes a glossary, index and detailed explanations for math strategies and concepts.
On the www.wrightgroup.com site, parents will find tips for helping your children at home, correlations between our math program and our state standards, family letters and much more.

School calendars set for next 2 years
The Tahoma School Board has approved school-year calendars for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years. The calendars set the starting and ending dates for each school year, along with vacation periods. The calendars will be amended to add early release and waiver days at a later time. Click here to view the calendars.
