q    Problem solving strategies are posted in the classroom.

 

q    Student math work (problem solving tasks, applications) is visible in the classroom.

 

q    Manipulatives are available to students (calculators, templates, measuring tools, counters, etc.).

 

q    Writing strategies for math problem solving are taught.

 

q    Multiple strategies are employed for checking for understanding, i.e., entry and exit slips, white boards, think pads, hand signals.
