What else should be considered?

• Stage size equal to or greater than the one in the multi-purpose room
• Adequate / flexible power
• "State of the art" lighting and sound system - Quality recording system
• Dimmer/Projection room separate from booth?
• Recording facility/plus, midi lab for recording/writing music
• Incorporate Film Lab for High School video/film workshops
• Performance equipment: stands, chairs, piano, major performing instruments, risers
• Grand piano and rehearsal piano in green/community rooms
• Screen for film viewing
• Community storage area (Run only)
• TSD storage area
• Separate Community / School Green Rooms and Restrooms
• Construction Shop?
• Costume Shop?
• Individually scheduled rehearsal rooms?
• Take a look at Kentlake. Their upper seating areas rotate and become two small lecture rooms or classrooms
• Must have adequate (+) Seating—don’t want to outgrow it before its paid for
• Art Gallery
• Pay phone or courtesy phone in lobby
• Lobby should have a visual arts display space
  This should include/but not be limited to a few permanent works of art, as well as rotating school and community art work in nice frames/display cabinets that could easily be changed out on a regular basis.
• Acoustic excellence for dance / theatre / music
• Flexibility to showcase drama, choral and band productions
• Adequate parking for facility
• Traffic flow
• Outdoor use facilities
       -Ex. picnic table, tennis courts, squash courts, walking trails.
• Exterior sculpture and outside art work that relate creatively to the theme of the site/school/area (i.e. pillars with tile work, walkways with set-in theme, benches, planters, outside billboard display areas, other sculpture works that add to the theme, etc.
• Could this Performing Arts Center be the "centerpiece" of our community? (central location)
• Site location-Why build outside city limits? Why not build where you know there will be growth?
• Where is our downtown center going to be?
• Make sure it’s accessible to a variety of school and community groups
• Built to say something special about our schools, community, and community’s mayor
• Maple Valley is growing and this helps our community to share its diversity
• The building is built before 2002
