Student RecognitionARE YOU READY TO EARN SOME BUCKS? “Bear” Bucks that is. Tahoma Middle School has an awards program called “Tahoma Bear Bucks” designed to acknowledge, praise and encourage students who show exceptional respectful habits, make good choices, show great maturity and do good deeds on their own without staff direction. A few examples are: students who show positive encouragement and language toward others; students who make a choice to step away from aggressive, physical, disruptive and/or harassment type behavior; students who voluntarily lend a helping hand to others. However, as much as the staff already appreciates the students’ good behavior, the Tahoma Bear Bucks Awards program is designed to go up and beyond a student’s everyday good behavior. The Tahoma Middle School Staff, except core teachers, will issue Bear Bucks to students who they feel have earned it. After a student collects one Bear Buck, they will be able to redeem it by choosing from an assortment of delicious treats from Mrs. Daoust during their lunch hour. The student will be congratulated during afternoon announcements. If a student earns a Bear Buck, they need to keep it in a safe place because there will be no replacement bucks issued. So, students, start fine tuning your good behavioral skills. “Thank you” to TMS ASB for choosing to fund this program and for making all the awesome posters that is posted around the school.
