Each year THS PTA awards $7000.00 in scholarship money.  These scholarships are given to graduating seniors who are pursuing post secondary education.  The committee is responsible for meeting with the THS Counseling Department secretary and counselor in charge of scholarships.  The committee prepares scholarship packets for applying seniors and makes copies of the applications for the counseling office.  These applications are read by a group of 12-16 parents.  Parents have to be a PTA member and not be a parent of a senior.  Applications are scored according to academics, community involvement, activities at school, job experience, preparation of application and essay question.  The committee gives results to the THS counseling secretary.  All scholarship recipients are notified through the counseling department.
