Expectations
We must stress the need for COMMITMENT from both you and your Band student.
We require students to be enrolled for the entire school year.
This is a GRADED CLASS. As such, there will be graded assignments: playing tests, scales to be memorized, etc.
You need to discuss with your student the expectation that they will need to practice at least FOUR DAYS A WEEK in order to progress and grow their skills.
REGULAR ATTENDANCE IS CRUCIAL in order to have continuity and progression in lessons.
Participation in our TWO CONCERTS (winter and spring) is also mandatory and considered part of the grading system.
In conclusion
We hope that this information helps you and your student come to an informed decision about your participation in our fifth grade Band program. We encourage you to contact a Band teacher and discuss any questions /concerns that you may have. Thanks for your support of the Tahoma Band program!
